"We loved the airy feel and the western views during sunset," the owner says of his one-bedroom loft on Arch Street. "The views of University City are incredible."

When Rich and Sherry Bove bought their Arch Street loft, they knew they would be moving soon to the West Coast.

"We bought the unit in March of 2007 with plans to keep it as a place for us to stay in the city," Sherry said.

They were drawn to the openness of the one-bedroom, one-bath unit, they said.

"We loved the airy feel and the western views during sunset," Rich said. "The views of University City are incredible."

The unit includes a wall of windows, which can be seen throughout the open floor plan. The Boves said the way in which the kitchen is integrated into the living space is ideal for entertaining.

"Everyone can be in the same space and enjoy the views together," Sherry said.

The home is stretched over 1,083 square feet of living space, which the couple said was another selling point.

"The size of the unit is huge for a one-bedroom in Center City," Rich said.

Amenities at the 2200 Arch building also include a private fitness center, secure garage parking, and a new lobby.

Now that the couple has decided to list their condo for sale, they expect the parking will likely entice new buyers.

In addition to views and a modern layout, the couple also pointed out the growth of the Logan Square neighborhood as a benefit to living in the building.

"The neighborhood is a nice, residential pocket, just a couple blocks away from the museums and all the restaurants, bars and shops in Rittenhouse," Sherry said. "A bonus is that Trader Joe's is a block away, and the new Whole Foods and Target are within walking distance as well."

The couple said the change in their travel schedule has led them to listing the property.

"We found that we don't spend long enough periods in Philly to justify keeping such a large space," Sherry said.

The property is listed with LeeAnn Chen at BHHS Fox & Roach for $425,000.
