Sixers trade Henderson to Jazz

The 76ers today traded veteran forward Alan Henderson to Utah for the right to switch second-round draft choices with the Jazz in 2007.

The 76ers today traded veteran forward Alan Henderson to Utah for the right to switch second-round draft choices with the Jazz in 2007.

The 6-foot-9 Henderson, who was signed last off-season as a free agent, played in 34 games for the Sixers, averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds. Henderson did not play in 11 of his last 14 games with the Sixers, although he missed one of those games - a Feb. 14 contest against Washington - to be with his wife, who was giving birth.

Even though he didn't see much playing time, Henderson was a strong veteran presence in the locker room.

Henderson is in his 12th NBA season. He also has played with Atlanta, Dallas and Cleveland.

The Sixers executed the deal just before the NBA's 3 p.m. trade deadline.
