Quigley to test avian flu drug

Quigley Corp., Doylestown, said today it will collaborate with the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Kimron Veterinary Institute to test Quigley compound QR-441 against avian influenza strain H5N1 in chickens.

Quigley Corp., Doylestown, said today it will collaborate with the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Kimron Veterinary Institute to test Quigley compound QR-441 against avian influenza strain H5N1 in chickens.

Quigley said QR-441 will be added to the feed or water of one-week-old chickens who will be exposed to avian influenza. The birds will be checked for signs of illness or death.

Shares were up 7 cents, or 0.90 percent, to $7.85 in midday trading on the Nasdaq.
