Crozer-Keystone Health System is moving mental health and rehabilitation services from Community Hospital, in Chester, to a building less than three miles away near the Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

A Crozer spokesman said Tuesday that the move was in the works for years and unrelated to the recent sale of Crozer to Prospect Medical Holdings Inc.

Security and maintenance of the Community Hospital, which was founded as Sacred Heart Hospital in 1953, have been a worry for years, the spokesman said.

The move has started but is not complete. Numerous tenants will also have to move.

Prospect has not yet decided what to do with the building.
