The Association of Audit Committee Members Inc., a nonprofit that assists the developing best practices for corporate audit committees, has named Frederick "Ted" C. Peters II to its board. He is the former chairman and CEO of Bryn Mawr Bank Corp. and founder of National Bank of the Main Line and First Main Line Bank. He also chaired the Audit Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia from 2009-14 and is a director and chair of the audit committee of Paycom Software Inc. and chairman and CEO of Bluestone Financial Institutions Group.

Other board members include: Patrick Gross is chairman of the Lovell Group, through which he advises a half dozen technology and internet commerce firms; Patricia Oelrich formerly chaired the Audit Committee of Pepco Holdings Inc. and is a member of the Audit Committee and Risk Committee of FHLB-Office of Finance and most recently served as vice president of global IT risk management at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals; Howard Carver, board member of Assurant Inc., and retired office managing partner of Ernst & Young; and Allen R. Freedman, former chair of the Governance Committee of Eaton Vance Mutual Funds who was chairman and CEO of Fortis Inc. (the predecessor of Assurant, Inc.).

The association also named Thomas I. Selling and Patricia A. Woodbury to its board of advisers. Selling is a professor emeritus of accounting at Thunderbird School of International Management in Phoenix and cofounder and president of Grove Technologies LLC. Woodbury is managing director in the FTI Consulting Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice and former associate director in the Division of Enforcement and Investigations at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

Finally, it named Frederick D. Lipman, president of the Association of Audit Committee Members Inc. and a partner at Blank Rome LLP, board president. Blank Rome LLP partners Yelena M. Barychev and Barry H. Genkin were named vice presidents.

The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter said Ellyn Phillips has been elected as secretary for the ALS Association board of trustees. She has been a board member since 1986, established the ALS Association's Public Policy Committee, chaired its Research and Development Committees, and established the Drug Company Working Group with Hiroshi Mitsumoto, MD in 1994. She is president of the Philadelphia Chapter.

Eileen B. Quigley, a real estate attorney at Ballard Spahr, will serve as chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Real Property Section, beginning a one-year term Jan. 1. She has served as vice chair during 2016 and in previous years as section secretary, treasurer, and Executive Committee member. Before joining Ballard Spahr, Quigley served for seven years in the City of Philadelphia Law Department, where she counseled and represented city government departments, including the Department of Licenses & Inspections, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Philadelphia Historical Commission.

Stephen E. Murray has been named to the board of the Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the EMCCC Technology Committee. He is an attorney with Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel, Philadelphia.

Pamela Strisofsky has been elected to the board of Privakey, a Philadelphia provider of cloud-based digital identity and authentication. Strisofsky currently serves as chairwoman of Ardica Technologies and as a member of both the board and the finance committee of the First Hospital Foundation. She also serves as an adviser to Guardian Capital Partners, Madison Bay Partners, MVS Management, and WealthForge. She previously spent more than 15 years as managing director and chief financial officer of TL Ventures, an early-stage venture-capital firm with $1.5 billion under management, while also serving as an adviser to EnerTech Capital Partners. She is an emeritus board member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Private Equity CFO Association, a group she assisted in founding.

The Pennsylvania Apartment Association East, an association representing multifamily developers, owners and managers, has named Miles Orth and Stanley Uhr to its board. Orth is executive vice president and chief operating officer of Campus Apartments and Uhr vice president and corporate counsel of Campus.

Carson Valley Children's Aid, a nonprofit Fort Washington social services organization founded in 1917, has named Margaret Rux, a principal and head of Vanguard Strategic Retirement Consulting, as president of its board.
