YouTube star Cory Williams discovers 'coolest sound' ever

YouTube star and filmmaker Cory “Mr. Safety” Williams discovered the sound made by a rock skipping across a frozen lake and at least two minutes of kid-in-a-candy-store-like bliss ensued.

YouTube star and filmmaker Cory "Mr. Safety" Williams discovered the sound made by a rock skipping across a frozen lake and at least two minutes of kid-in-a-candy-store-like bliss ensued.

"This is the coolest sound I've ever heard," Williams exclaimed in the YouTube video. Williams and his girlfriend moved to Alaska in August and he has been vlogging about his adventures ever since. When the pair decided to take a walk near a lake in Anchorage, Williams was delighted at the echoing "ping" sound made when he skipped a rock.

According to a magazine cited by the Huffington Post, the sound is made when ice vibrates after being struck.

But, honestly, the best part of this video is Williams' reaction after he makes his cool, scientific discovery. Start the video at 3:41 to see it all unfold.
