For those who are in need of a beefy burger, Lucky Strike is your destination. In the mood for some Cajun flavor? Visit Drexel's Academic Bistro for a special pop-up dinner. And for those who want the ultimate pairing event, Brewer's Plate is finally here.

Lucky Strike Lanes' (1336 Chestnut St.) burger of the month honors St. Patrick's Day with a special Irish Burger available throughout March. The burger, best paired with a Guinness, includes 1/3 pound beef patty, Tillamook white cheddar, grilled onions, lettuce, bangers, and barbecue sauce on a brioche bun with a side of potato chips. The burger is priced at $12.95.

Restaurant friends are stirring up the first annual Pubs that Care event on Wednesday, March 4, which will benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Starting at 7 p.m., guests can enjoy specialty plates at Misconduct Tavern (1511 Locust St.), Sancho Pistola's (19 W Girard Ave.), Smith's (39 S 19th St.), Watkins Drinkery (1712 S 10th St.), Lucky's Last Chance (4421 Main St.), and beer from Southern Tier and Fegley's Brew Works. Tickets are $40 per person and all proceeds go towards toys for CHOP.

In recognition of Lent, Dettera's (129 E. Butler Ave., Ambler) chef Jeffrey Power introduces Sustainable Fish Fridays. Each Friday through March 27 the restaurant will offer a fishy dish featuring a different pairing each time. On Friday, March 6, the menu for the evening includes: Fluke crudo, oysters, grilled barramundi, and roasted pineapple for dessert. The restaurant is open at 5 p.m. and the special is $35.

Flavors of Louisiana take the spotlight at Drexel University's Academic Bistro (101 N. 33rd St., 6th Floor) on Friday, March 6 during a special pop-up dinner. Beginning at 6 p.m., chef Tory McPhail from Commander's Palace in New Orleans will serve his Creole cuisine featuring turtle soup, wild gulf shrimp, spiced tenderloin, and bread pudding soufflé. The dinner costs $75 and includes drink pairings.

Learn about the art of pairing on Sunday, March 8 as the Kimmel Center (300 South Broad St.) hosts Brewer's Plate. Beginning at 7 p.m., foodies can enjoy the best restaurants and breweries from the Mid-Atlantic region and try their selected offerings. Who to expect? Some vendors lined up for the evening include: Vault Brewing Co., Victory Brewing, Forest & Main Brewing, Garces Trading Co., Wecklery's Ice Cream, and DiBruno Brothers.
