Starting Thursday, May 22 a pop-up open air market makes its home at The Oval on the Parkway. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 23 and from noon until 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, PHAIR at the Oval helps get the Memorial Day Weekend started with music, shopping, games and food trucks.

Over the course of the three-day fair, vendors like Begga & Co. (handmade leather goods), Fairware (activewear) and Latin Crafts (Mexican jewelry) will sell their merchandise, rain or shine. While you shop or play any of the event's games—like cornhole, checkers and chess— DJs will be supplying the sonic entertainment. Let us not forget about food—a number of food trucks will line up around the Oval—from Mama's Meatballs, Sweet Box Cupcakes and The Tot Cart. You won't go hungry. And with food comes drink, and the Local Libations Lounge will not disappoint. Berks County's Frecon Farms will serve fresh cider and Victory Brewing Company will put the fun on wheels to deliver beer via their mobile brewpub.

Longer festival hours on Saturday mean special programming. The Clay Studio will explain how Claymation movies are made from noon until 4 p.m., while colorful souls can get their faces painted also from noon until 4 p.m. Later in the day, live musicians like Philadelphia performers Daud El-Bakara and The New Sound Brass Band take the stage from 4 p.m. until the end of the day.
