Updated 11/12/18: The shop won't close. See updated article.

The British Chip Shop in downtown Haddonfield, where people have been getting their bangers and mash on for eight years, says it will close, effective Dec. 23.

In a Facebook posting, management promised to hold its regular events in the meantime, including Harry Potter festivities and holiday menus.

Co-owner Edward Strojan said his stepfather, Gary Coleman, simply wants to retire.

The restaurant opened in July 2010 as an adjunct of the English Gardener, Coleman's gift shop across Kings Highway.

The shop will remain, as will Strojan's pub, Victoria Freehouse, at 10 S. Front St. in Old City.

A note to our customers, family, and friends: this will be our last Holiday Season and we will finish service on…
