Havertown switcheroo: Kaya's giving way to La Tez

Kaya’s will end its six-year run in Havertown on March 29, as co-owner Jessica Hawthorne reports on the web page of the BYOB she owns with her husband, Mike. They seek a "new chapter' in their lives.

Every transition should be this smooth:

Kaya's Fusion Cuisine will end its six-year run in Havertown on March 29, as co-owner Jessica Hawthorne reports on the web page of the BYOB she owns with her husband, Mike. They seek a "new chapter' in their lives.

In her goodbye note, she also announced that restaurateurs Phil Ferro and Dan Prazenica would take over the lease and open La Tez, a Mexican tapas BYOB that will offer mixers for margaritas and other cocktails.

Further, she wrote, the new owners offered to honor Kaya's gift certificates purchased in the last year (April 2013 to present, excluding Living Social and Amazon promotions). Kaya's is cash only for the rest of its days.

She was a waitress at Carmine's Creole Cafe, the space's previous occupant.
