Bring the fun back into your fitness routine with a unique combination of barre fitness and cabarret. Miami-based dancer and fitness entrepreneur Nicole LaBonde will be offering her unique CABARRET fitness program Wednesday, October 22 through Sunday, October 26 in dance studios in Philadelphia, the Main Line and New Jersey.

CABARRET combines the classical barre exercises from ballet with hot burlesque dance moves to help you maintain the tight and toned body of a dancer. LaBonde created a program that utilizes a combination of resistance, training, cardio and stretching to turn you into a lean, mean dancing machine.

"CABARRET is the only barre program that remembers what the barre work is actually for – to get the body ready to DANCE!," she said.

You don't have to already have experience as a dancer to join this program though. LaBonde said, "Dance fitness can be intimidating for some. But in CABARRET, we really break down the dances, so everyone can participate, learn, and work out."

Six Master Classes and a Teacher Training are all on the schedule. During the master classes, you will work on chair tricks, floor work, and learn choreography while sculpting legs, buttocks, upper arms and core. At the end of the sessions, you will even learn a final cardio burlesque dance number.

The Teacher Training Session on Sunday, October 26 will begin with an open master class, but then will focus on sharing with new teachers the history, vocabulary, workout routines, and variations they will need to teach the program in their studios.

Originally from Pittsburgh, LaBonde has a B.A. in Dance from Eastern University on Philadelphia's Main Line and is a certified Pilates instructor through Romana's Pilates program.

The Teacher Training will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at First Position Dance Arts, 19 W. Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore, Pa.  You need register online here.
