Report: Russell will work out for Sixers

Sheridan Hoops is reporting that D'Angelo Russell will work out for the Sixers on Wednesday.

The former Ohio State point guard had canceled this past weekend's scheduled workout due to illness. At the time, a league source said to not rule out the franchise securing another workout with Russell.

Several pre-lottery mock drafts have the Sixers taking Russell over Mudiay with the third pick.

Russell averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists and shot 41.1 percent on three-pointers last season en route to being named a first-team all-American and Big Ten freshman of the year.
