The Temple football team has announced the addition of cornerback/returner Mike Jones, a graduate transfer from North Carolina Central. The 5-foot-11, 187-pounder will have one year of eligibility with the Owls.

In 2016, Jones made 30 tackles and had two interceptions and five pass break-ups. As a returner, he averaged 22 yards per punt return and scored two touchdowns.

He was a first-team all-MEAC at both corner and return specialist in 2014 and 2016. Jones missed most of the 2015 season because of injury and received a medical redshirt. He will count toward Temple's incoming recruiting class.

As reported earlier, Temple has two other non-high school players who will count toward that class. They are placekicker Aaron Boumerhi and offensive lineman Vince Picozzi, who were freshman walk-ons this past season and have been placed on scholarship.
