Two people have been arrested for allegedly vandalizing the Apple Pie Hill fire tower, a New Jersey landmark known for its sweeping views in the Pinelands.

Robert Lloyd, 49, and donna Campanella, 46, have been charged with criminal mischief, trespassing and other offenses, the Press of Atlantic City reports. They were taken into custody Friday.

Authorities significantly restricted access to the 60-foot-tall tower in Wharton State Forest in Burlington County after repeated bouts of vandalism in September, making the views appointment-only. The popular site had previously been open throughout the day and night.

The pair was observed entering the secured tower area on Oct. 5, the Press reported, dismantling the fence and causing damage.
