To celebrate the grand opening of the ICON Building – the new luxury high-rise at the historic address of 1616 Walnut Street – several hundred people attended a lavish party at the building on Tuesday, filled with live music, 1920s flapper girls, cocktails and light bites.

While the first tenants of the 25-story art deco building moved in April 1, many of the amenities, such as the gym, roof deck and wellness floor, weren't complete until now.

The party was hosted by Federal Capital Partners, Alterra Property Group and Cross properties, the developers behind the $50 million redevelopment project.

ICON is the first apartment building in Philadelphia to include features from Delos, a New York-based company that specializes in what it calls Wellness Real Estate. Select units include 15 health-related features such as a Vitamin C shower infusion, lights to promote better sleep, and anti-microbial coatings on surfaces.

Guests enjoyed cocktails and food on the club level and roof deck, and were able to check out a model apartment on the 7th floor.
