I was passed a link to a piece on MLB.com about the 'N Sync photo in which they were all wearing Phillies jerseys and at the very bottom was this line:

The plot thickens. A hat tip to commenter Adrian Martinez, who informs us that Justin Timberlake is the nephew of John Timberlake, GM of the Clearwater Threshers.

WAIT WHAT!?

And it is apparently true, as Larry Shenk, VP of Alumni Relations with the Phillies wrote a few years back.

There you have it. Mystery solved.
