Now that CBS radio has announced its intention to sell off its radio division, it seems like a good time to spend money to move station personnel around. That might make it easier for potential buyers to kick the tires.
The Philadelphia Business Journal reports that Oldies 98.1 (WOGL) will be leaving its home at 4th and Market Streets and moving to an office building at 555 City Line Ave., where its sales staff already relocated.
WOGL will share space with other CBS properties WXTU 92.5 Country and 96.5 AMP.
Does this mean CBS will be willing to split up its radio market in Philadelphia? The move leaves the music stations on City Line Ave., the talk radio stations WIP and WPHT at 400 Market St., and KYW Newsradio paired up with CBS3 News at 15th and Callowhill.
WOGL is the No. 2-rated station in the market, playing "Philadelphia's Greatest Hits" -- a questionable assertion since the station was playing "Baby Come Back" by Player at the time this item was written.
