With the cuts they made on Friday, the Eagles are down to the maximum 80 players for training camp. Rookies and selected veterans report to Lehigh July 21 and the remainder of the team begins July 24.
The position battles among starters are fairly limited -- fullback and perhaps left guard, the most prominent -- although there are some decisions to be made. The Eagles clearly devoted energy this offseason to acquiring guys who can play special teams, but they also have to be able to contribute in other ways.
How many defensive linemen will they carry? How about how many offensive linemen? Who is the third tight end or the last wide receiver? Sure seems like some familiar names might not be among the 53-man roster.
We broke down the 80 players by position and then you can decide who might be the candidates for those final cuts, even though that is a long way away. Of course, the Eagles could make some additional moves between now and the end of training camp, if they see a need area, or a player they like shakes free.
