Haverford School

Coach: Mike Murphy (11th year, 58-50).

Last season: 9-1 overall, 5-0 Inter-Ac League.

Returning starters on offense: 5.

Returning starters on defense: 5.

Players to Watch: Kevin Carter, Sr., QB, 5-11, 195; Dox Aitken, Sr., WR-FS-P, 6-3, 195; Frank Cresta Sr., OL-LB, 6-2, 230; Mickey Kober, Sr., LB 6-1, 215; Brian Denoncour, Sr., OL, 6-3, 270; Micah Sims, Sr., WR-DB, 5-8, 160; Eli "Flash" Godfrey, Jr., DB, 5-10, 175; Brendan Clark, Jr., OL-DL; 6-5, 290; Mallik Twyman, Jr., RB-LB, 5-10, 205; Chris Kober, Jr., LB, 5-10, 210; Keyveat Postell, Sr., WR-SS, 6-2, 175; Forry Smith, Sr., WR-DB, 6-3, 190; Peter Solomon, Jr., OL-DL, 6-3, 265; Colin Hurlbrink, So., OL-DL, 6-2, 220; Aron Hudson, Jr., WR-DB, 5-7, 160.

Newcomer: Clark, a 6-5, 290-pound junior two-way lineman, transferred in from Father Judge. He was a second-team all-Catholic League Class AAAA pick on offense for the Crusaders last season.

Excited about: The return of Carter at QB; size and speed of the skill-position guys; experience in defensive secondary (Aitken, Sims, Godfrey).

Concerned about: The loss of 22 seniors from a championship squad; must replace explosive rusher Phil Poquie; lack of experience on both side of the lines; no proven placekicker.

Quick facts: Aitken was co-Inter-Ac player of the year in 2014; Carter threw for 1,500 yards and 16 TDs; Aitken and Sims each made two interceptions; Aitken is a star midfielder and Virginia recruit in lacrosse; Aitken (WR-P) and Denoncour (L) were first-team all-league picks on offense; Aitken (B) and Cresta (L) were first-teamers on defense.

Division I-AA prospects: Carter, Kober, Sims, Cresta, and Denoncour.
