Man accidentally shoots self in Old City

A 23-year-old man was hospitalized in stable condition after accidentally shooting himself Monday evening while in a parking garage in the city’s Old City section, police said.

Just before 6:20 p.m., the man was in a garage in the 500 block of Market Street when he shot himself in the left hand and left leg, police said. He was taken by medics to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Police said the man had a permit to carry a concealed firearm. Police recovered the gun.
