Saturday’s Southeastern Pa. roundup: Deuce Turner scores 41 points to lead Malvern past Plymouth Whitemarsh in John Salmons Classic

Deuce Turner scored a game-high 41 points Saturday as the Malvern Prep basketball team topped Plymouth Whitemarsh, 90-86, in the John Salmons Classic at Plymouth Whitemarsh. Rahdir Hicks added 27 points for the Friars. Caelin Peters led the Colonials with 36 points.

In other John Salmons Classic action, Lakeem McAliley scored a game-high 21 points as Mastery South upended Timber Creek (NJ), 65-56. Jamir Reed added 20 points for the Pumas, who will start the Public League playoffs on Thursday against the winner of West Philadelphia and Fels.

Martin Luther King fell to Rancocas Valley, 58-53. Hyseir Miler led the Cougars with 17 points. King begins the Public League playoffs on Thursday against the winner of Penn Treaty and Ben Franklin.

Khalil Farmer finished with 37 points as Shipley routed Cross Christian, 100-43. Randall Brown chipped in 20 points for the Gators. Phil D’Ambrosio won his 100th career game at Shipley.

Jaire Ballard-West and Seydou Ndiaye each scored 14 points in Frankford’s 51-48 victory over Germantown Academy.

Jack Mulhearn made five three-pointers for 17 points to lead Central Bucks West over William Tennent, 64-41. Jack Neri contributed 11 points for the Bucks.

Aaron Thompson poured in 29 points as Glen Mills edged Upper Darby in overtime, 55-54.

Nick Roggio tallied 15 points as Central Bucks East defeated New Hope-Solebury, 58-47. Leo Masterson chipped in 14 points for the Patriots.

Nolan Grady netted 27 points to carry Germantown Friends past Palumbo, 61-49. Matt Johnson added 19 points for the Tigers.

Lyle Tipton recorded 19 points in Phil-Mont Christian’s 53-47 triumph over Jenkintown. Daniel Olinger and Michael DiBenedetto had 12 points apiece for the Falcons.

Wyatt Hockenberry led a balanced Unioville attack with 14 points in a 75-35 win over Collegium Charter.

Will Steinberg and Collin Brown scored 11 points apiece as Friends' Central edged Abington Friends, 47-45, in the Friends School League quarterfinals on Friday. The Kangaroos will play Westtown on Tuesday at Jefferson University in the semifinals.

Girls' Basketball

Rachel Balzer scored 11 points as Germantown Academy defeated Baldwin, 41-22. Maddie Vizza added nine points for the Patriots.

Chloe Munyon made a pair of free throws with nine seconds left to give Bensalem a 32-31 win over New Hope-Solebury. Haley Keenan had 19 points for the Owls.

Jackie Vargas recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds as Upper Dublin downed Central Bucks West, 45-39. Dayna Balasa chipped in 12 points for the Cardinals.

Shannon and Casey Remolde combined for 18 points in St. Basil’s 59-23 victory over Lower Moreland. The Panthers improve to 21-0 on the season.

Kara Kniezewski scored a team-high 28 points to lift Springside Chestnut Hill over Agnes Irwin, 68-43. Ava Chavez added 10 points for the Blue Devils.

Sarah Huston poured in 38 points as Coatesville rolled past Oxford, 79-34. Danae Ellzy had 17 points for the Red Raiders.

Dikaya Daniels' 16 points and Becca Magrone’s 14 points paved the way for West Chester Rustin’s 59-41 triumph over West Chester East.

Cara Camposano drained three three-pointers for 11 points as Radnor beat Chester, 63-33. Brienne Williams led the Raiders with 12 points.

Olivia LeClaire scored 14 points as Owen J. Roberts topped Unionville, 42-37, as coach Jeremy Mellon earned his 100th career win. Avery White chipped in 10 points for the Wildcats.

Jasmine Forrester led all scorers with 22 points in Upper Darby’s 67-57 victory over Kennett. Natalie Koskinas added 16 points for the Royals.

Grace Ferguson notched a game-high 24 points as West Chester Henderson topped Academy Park, 52-35.

Maysan Id-Been had 20 points for Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in a 36-7 defeat of American School of the Deaf.

Wrestling

The Council Rock South wrestling team won the AAA District 1 Duals for a third straight year after defeating Spring-Ford, 42-25.
