Vicki LaRosa was ready for a big move when she bought her two-bedroom home in 2010.

“I was young and single and decided to make a move into the big city from the suburbs,” she said.

When she found a 900-square-foot trinity with newer finishes and original charm, she knew it would make a perfect home.

“The original hardwood floors and the exposed brick walls made it feel like a home — not just a house,” LaRosa said. “Also, with the updated kitchen and central air, I knew I didn’t have to put a lot of work into the home, it was the perfect combo.”

She was also drawn to the Fairmount area.

“It seemed like the perfect neighborhood for a newly minted city dweller to buy a home,” LaRosa said.

She said she was lucky that the home didn’t require renovations.

“I’ve done some minor work to the back patio and installed some more modern technology, but otherwise, I haven’t had to do much,” she said.

In addition to the exposed brick, LaRosa said the patio behind the home is among her favorite features.

It’s "absolutely magical to sit in at night with strung up lights, candles and running water fountains,” she said.

Now that she has listed the home for sale, LaRosa said she will miss the neighborhood.

“It’s a neighborhood that is hard to leave. I’ve taken hundreds of bike rides down Kelly Drive through Fairmount Park and into Wissahickon Park,” she said. “One minute you are in a bustling city, next you just hear birds and running streams.”

LaRosa said she decided it was time for another exciting life move.

“Got married and looking for that ‘next phase’ home,” she said.

The property is listed with Ben Hooson-Jones at Coldwell Banker for $365,000.
