A 10-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition after he was hit by a van Wednesday night in the city’s West Oak Lane section, police said.

Shortly after 7 p.m., the boy reportedly ran from between two cars into the middle of the 2000 block of Washington Lane and was struck by a white Ford van, police said. The boy suffered head trauma and a broken arm. Medics took him to Einstein Medical Center.

The van’s driver, a 56-year-old man, stayed at the scene. The accident was under investigation.
