Thursday’s Southeastern Pa. roundup: Sarah Hartigan breaks St. Hubert girls’ lacrosse goals record in 12-7 win

Sarah Hartigan broke the St. Hubert girls’ lacrosse all-time scoring record in its 12-7 comeback win over Neshaminy on Thursday. Hartigan had a game-high seven goals, giving her a total of 166 to surpass Emily Smith’s previous record of 163. The Bambies fell behind 4-2 at halftime before Hartigan netted five of the team’s 10 goals in the second half. Payton Pugh notched a hat trick for St. Hubert while Mackenzie Foster tallied four goals for the Redskins.

Margie Carden had a game-high four goals and tallied her 100th career goal in the process as Villa Maria beat Merion Mercy, 21-3. Abby Walheim had two goals and five assists. Eleven players scored at least one goal for the Hurricanes.

Sabrina Narda had four goals and three assists in Archbishop Carroll’s 17-1 rout of Conwell-Egan. Nine players scored for the Patriots, as Narda and fellow seniors Amber Germer, Madison Henry, Julia Downs and Johanna Arevelo accounted for 12 goals on Senior Night.

Radnor held Garnet Valley to one goal in the second half on the way to a 11-6 win. Cate Cox, Tori DiCarlo, Cierra Hopson and Ellie Mueller each scored two goals in the win.

Springfield beat Strath Haven, 12-3.

Softball

Nickie Colkers’ bases-loaded, walk-off single gave Southern a 14-13 win over West Philadelphia in five innings. The Rams stormed back from a 13-9 deficit in the fifth.

Cori Jones’ solo home run in the seventh tied the game at two before Jess Wilcox scored the game-winning run with a bases-loaded walk to lift Conwell-Egan over Landsale Catholic, 3-2.

Rachel Lopes had a two-run home run and a pair of doubles as Dock Mennonite beat New Hope-Solebury, 16-1, in four innings. Jocelyn Pfleiger had four hits including two doubles, and Kennedi Wells had three hits and four runs for the Pioneers.

Abby Penjuke’s two-run blast to center field in the fifth proved to be the difference maker, as Methacton beat Council Rock South, 5-3. Caroline Pellicano pitched two perfect innings in relief to get the win for the Warriors.

McKenzie Tolber went 4-for-4 with a walk, four singles, three runs scored, an RBI and two stolen bases for Nazareth Academy, who beat Mount St. Joseph, 11-4. Catie Ferry followed with three hits and three RBIs for the Pandas. Devyn Dydak had a pair of hits including a triple and two RBIs.

Tess Smiley had four hits including a triple and six RBIs to lead Haverford High over Conestoga, 7-5. Rachel Yocom was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Olney beat Franklin Learning Center, 8-7, on a walk-off walk in the sixth. Juliany Morales had six strikeouts and a double for Olney.

Aubrie Breisblatt had a grand slam while Kendall Brown had a solo shot in the fifth and picked up the win on the mound for Phoenixville, beating Boyertown, 6-4. Brown struck out 10 in a complete-game performance.

Chiara Wheeler had 11 strikeouts through six innings and had a double, leading Roxborough over Engineering & Science, 12-2.

Overbrook scored 13 runs in the third to end the game, winning 28-9 over Bartram. Mariam Maiga had three doubles for the Panthers.

Nine players scored a run in Radnor’s 9-5 win over Springfield (Delco). Sophia Royle had two hits, two RBIs and a run in the win.

Hailee Weiss and Meaghan McGoldrick picked up three hits apiece to lead Gwynedd Mercy to a 6-0 win over St. Basil.

Xochitl Krumbiegel and Kira Farmer each had a home run in Harriton’s 12-4 win over Marple Newtown.

Swenson scored eight runs in the first and third innings, beating Esperanza, 18-6.

Upper Perkiomen held off Perkiomen Valley, 5-4.

Perkiomen School shutout Barrack Hebrew, 17-0. Rianne Moll had eight strikeouts.

Baseball

Trey Yesavage’s no-hitter against Phoenixville gave Boyertown a 2-0 win and was the program’s first no-hitter since 2014. Yesavage struck out eight and walked four, as Chris Davis went 2-for-3 for the Bears.

Brett Tanis’ five-inning perfect game was spoiled after issuing a walk on a full count in Delco Christian’s 12-0 win over Jenkintown. Tanis got the next batter to hit into a double-play to end the game.

Justin Massielo picked up his 100th career hit in Pennsbury’s 6-2 win over William Tennent.

Alden Mathes struck out seven through six innings, leading Marple Newtown to a 10-4 win over Harriton. Erik Molinaro led the team with three hits on the day.

Mitchell McCann had three hits as Springfield (Montco) beat Hatboro-Horsham, 6-4. The Spartans scored four runs in the first inning.

Eric Lipson had 10 strikeouts in a five-inning complete-game to lift GAMP over Constitution, 11-1.

Jimmy King had two doubles in St. Joseph’s Prep’s 7-3 win over Holy Cross. Emanuel Chuckran had a double and two RBIs for the Hawks.

Ethan Picko struck out 10 over 6 2/3 shutout innings to lead Ridley past Garney Valley, 4-0. Trent Pierce had two hits for the Gree Raiders, who scored all their runs in the sixth inning.

Derek Smith had a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to give New Hope-Solebury a 13-3 win over Church Farm in five innings. Conner Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Justin Horak and John Mangan all had doubles for the Lions.

Jayden Kemp had an RBI triple in the fifth inning and Manny Ariza followed with an RBI double to break open Perkiomen School’s 16-6 win over Barrack Hebrew.

Boys’ Lacrosse

Connor Roop had four assists to go along with his one goal, giving him 100 career points during Perkiomen Valley’s 10-4 win over Interboro. Matt Farrington led the Vikings with four goals.

After being held scoreless in the first half, Penncrest limited Harriton to just two second-half goals and won, 8-5.

La Salle routed Archbishop Carroll, 17-2, on senior night.
