Saturday’s South Jersey roundup: Rancocas Valley erases late deficit to beat Martin Luther King in John Salmons Classic

Javontae Jones finished with a game-high 27 points Saturday as the Rancocas Valley boys' basketball team overcame a 15-point fourth quarter deficit to top Martin Luther King (Pa.), 58-53, in the John Salmons Classic at Plymouth Whitemarsh in Pa. Damilola Mosaku added 10 points for the Red Devils.

In other John Salmons Classic action, Timber Creek fell to Mastery North (Pa.), 65-56. Justin Bladen led the Chargers with 18 points.

Marcus Moore and Wesley Robinson each scored 17 points as Burlington Township outlasted Palmyra in overtime, 66-62. Emmanuel Ayetigbo chipped in 10 points for the Falcons.

Joshua Jones recorded a double-double with 31 points and 15 rebounds to lead Clayton over Camden County Tech, 108-84. Max Cruz added 21 points and 10 assists to go along with Dorien DePina’s 21 points for the Clippers.

Jerome Brewer netted 15 points in Camden’s 60-42 win over Moorestown. Ethan Tarte and Taquon Woodley contributed 13 points apiece for the Panthers.

Carl Gibson poured in 32 points to carry Cherry Hill East over Clearview, 59-47. Sam Serata chipped in 15 points for the Cougars.

Javon Gordon collected 22 points and five assists as Delsea defeated Lenape, 61-45. Trey Simmons added 12 points for the Crusaders.

Conor Regan scored 17 points and grabbed 10 points as Gloucester Catholic topped Gloucester, 49-33.

Keyshawn Sanders led all scorers with 18 points in Paulsboro’s 60-34 decision over Gateway.

Hakim Melvin tallied a game-high 19 points as Cherry Hill West rolled past Triton, 74-52. Jaydon Davis chipped in 17 points for the Lions.

Brandon Ratcliffe scored 20 points as West Deptford downed Pitman, 65-41. MJ Iraldi added 11 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists for the Eagles.

Jalen Stewart notched 17 points in Maple Shade’s 63-31 decision over Salem Tech. Jaheim Jones had 12 points for the Wildcats.

Girls' Basketball

Marianna Papazaglou registered 30 points as Wildwood Catholic defeated King’s Christian, 69-31. Gabby Turco contributed 14 points for the Crusaders.

Katie Kempter compiled 18 points and eight rebounds as Bishop Eustace upended Timber Creek, 49-31.

Carly Stroemel scored 18 points as Paul VI cruised past Cherry Hill West, 70-39.

Wrestling

Collingswood swept its three matches against Shawnee, Cinnaminson, and Absegami.

Shawnee swept its two matches, beating Cinnaminson, 42-21, and topping Absegami, 40-36.

Jiya Gannone recorded a fall over Dawson Simons to help Rancocas Valley beat Pemberton, 60-16.

Chad Ball registered a fall over Francis Beierschmitt as Haddon Township defeated Lenaoe, 50-24.
