Many restaurants feed their friends and families before their official openings.
At the Del Frisco’s Grille that opens Monday, Dec. 10 at 225 S. Broad St., beneath the Cambria hotel, management is selling food (not alcohol) at half-price this week, and it’s giving 100 percent of the take to charities: the Attic Youth Center (Tuesday), Veterans Multi-Service Center (Wednesday), St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (Thursday and Sunday), and the Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation (Saturday).
Del Frisco’s Grille, a slick 250-seater, complete with enormous wine towers and a low-profile balcony in new construction across from the Bellevue, is a notch more casual than the Del Frisco’s Double Eagle, whose local outpost is at 15th and Chestnut.
That is, while steaks and seafood dishes and classic cocktails are the keys at Double Eagle (whose dinner tabs average $110 to $120 a person), the Grille offers a wider-ranging menu, craft cocktails, and 14 beers on tap (dinner averages ($55 to $65).
In addition to a bone-in filet, filet mignon, New York strip, rib eye, and the prime rib (only available on Fridays and Saturdays), the menu includes cheesesteak eggrolls, artichoke beignets, ahi tacos, steakhouse salad, kale-and-Brussels sprout salad, and Quinn’s Filet Burger, named after head chef Shawn Quinn.
It’s open for lunch/brunch and dinner daily; the changeover to dinner is at 3 p.m.
