Flyers goalie Carter Hart, who is still seeking his first NHL shutout, had an easy time blanking Great Britain on Sunday in the IIHF World Championships in Slovakia.

Hart was forced to make just 12 saves as Team Canada routed Great Britain, 8-0, to even its record in the tournament at 1-1.

As a rookie this season with the Flyers, the 20-year-old Hart was 16-13-1 with a 2.83 GAA and .917 save percentage.

Flyers center Sean Couturier had a goal for Canada. Britain, coming off a 3-1 loss to Germany, is in the tourney’s first division for the first time in 25 years.

Canada, directed by new Flyers coach Alain Vigneault, opened the tournament with a 3-1 loss Friday to Finland. Pittsburgh’s Matt Murray was the Canada goalie in that game.

Canada, which will play Slovakia at 2 p.m. Monday (NHL Network), outshot the Brits, 56-12.

Team USA, a 7-1 winner Sunday over France, plays Finland at 10:15 a.m. Monday (NHL Network). Flyers left winger James van Riemsdyk is on the U.S. squad.
