Camden’s BB&T Pavilion will open its 25th anniversary season next month with upgrades, new food and beverage offerings, and $20 concerts that include performances from such acts as Alice Cooper, Coheed and Cambria, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The venue will begin its 2019 season with the MMRBBQ, WMMR’s annual summer concert, featuring Shinedown, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the Struts, Evanescence, Fozzy, the Glorious Sons, Bad Wolves, and Jaxon’s Local Shots Artist Siravo. That’s when concertgoers will get a first look at some of the new digs. Upgrades include LED screens on the lawn, a Black Box club, new restrooms, concession stands, seats, and other enhancements not yet announced.

Concertgoers can also snack on new items like Questlove’s Cheesesteak (made with Impossible Burger “meat” and already sold at Citizens Bank Park), tacos from actor Danny Trejo’s Los Angeles Tacos chain, fried chicken by Art Smith (a favorite of Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama), and Italian food from Top Chef’s Fabio Viviani. A series of Live Nation signature cocktails has been developed thanks to 2014 American Bartender of the Year Sean Kenyon.

Live Nation also will celebrate the 25th anniversary season during Concert Week (May 1 to 7).

While the full list for the $20 concerts has not yet been announced, artists include:

  1. Coheed and Cambria (June 8)

  2. Kids Bop Live (July 19)

  3. Breaking Benjamin (Aug. 9)

  4. Train and Goo Goo Dolls (Aug. 10)

  5. Alice Cooper (Aug. 16)

  6. Rascal Flatts (Aug. 23)

  7. Lynyrd Skynyrd (Aug. 30)

  8. Zac Brown Band (Sept. 6 and 7)

Aside from May 31’s sold-out Luke Bryan concert, the pavilion will host regular-season shows from such acts as the Dave Matthews Band (June 14 and 15); Dead & Co. (June 20); Elvis Costello and Blondie (July 27), who will headline WXPN’s Xponential Fest; and others.

Formerly known by names including the Blockbuster-Sony Music Entertainment Centre, the Tweeter Center at the Waterfront, and the Susquehanna Bank Center, the BB&T Pavilion has had more than 13 million customers.
