The Eagles may not have made it to the Super Bowl this year, but Philly did have a presence in the Big Game, courtesy of Stephen Colbert.

Colbert featured Flyers mascot Gritty in a segment on his Super Bowl special, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Super Bowl Edition, on Sunday on CBS, which aired following the New England Patriots’ 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII this weekend.

A cold open, the clip features Gritty appearing at Colbert’s mock Super Bowl party, just moments behind actor Sir Patrick Stewart. As Stewart says in the clip, Gritty — whose real name is apparently Grittwald G. Grittington — the pair are close friends, and used to act together in the Royal Shakespeare Company, where Gritty once played the role of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet.

In his appearance on the show, Gritty also briefly shreds on electric guitar, and helps get Colbert to the Late Show via a teleporter in a shoutout to Stewart’s Star Trek: The Next Generation roots.

Gritty was also pretty active during the game on Sunday, at least on social media. Though, seeing as the Eagles weren’t involved, Gritty wasn’t very excited.

“I’m bored,” he wrote in one tweet, adding later that his “dip game” is “strong,” referring to a wide selection of dips for chips at his disposal.

“I have more dips than points [right now],” Gritty wrote.

Gritty’s beloved Flyers, meanwhile, today will face off against the Vancouver Canucks at the Wells Fargo Center at 7 p.m.
