The season-ending injuries continue to accumulate for the Eagles, who placed running back Corey Clement and defensive end Josh Sweat on injured reserve on Tuesday.

They signed running back Boston Scott and defensive end Daeshon Hall as replacements.

Clement injured a knee in Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys. It ends a season that did not go as Clement hoped. The undrafted second-year player finished with 68 carries for 259 yards and two touchdowns along with 22 catches for 192 yards. It was not a bad season, but after leading the team in receiving yards in the Super Bowl, Clement could not seize the starting job after Jay Ajayi’s injury earlier this season.

Sweat, a fourth-round rookie, injured an ankle. He finishes his season with one tackle in nine games. This was viewed as a developmental year for Sweat, although the Eagles only had 68 in-game snaps of Sweat to evaluate.

The exact nature of either injury is not yet known. There are now 12 players on injured reserve.

The Eagles will rely on Josh Adams, Darren Sproles, and Wendell Smallwood at running back, but they’ll get another rookie to develop in Scott. The 5-foot-6, 203-pound Scott was a sixth-round pick out of the Louisiana Tech and was signed off the Saints' practice squad. Clement’s work as the third-down running back can be taken by Sproles, who is getting healthier and is the team’s best running back in the passing game. Smallwood earned a carry in a high-leverage moment during Sunday’s game because of Clement’s absence and has played a key role at times this season.

Clement had also carved a spot in recent weeks as a kick returner. Look for Shelton Gibson to get a opportunity to replace him. Gibson started the season as the kick returner.

The Eagles will continue to use Michael Bennett, Brandon Graham, and Chris Long at defensive end. Hall will now be the fourth pass rusher in the rotation. A 2017 third-round pick out of Texas A&M, Hall played one game for Carolina last season and was waived on cutdown day. He was on the 49ers' practice squad and the Texans' active roster this season. Hall is 6-5 and 265 pounds and ran a 4.76 40-yard dash.

The Eagles also added cornerback Josh Hawkins to the practice squad. Hawkins has played in 31 NFL games, with three starts last season in Green Bay.
