It might not be tickets for life, but it’s not too bad: One lucky Eagles fan will have a spot at Lincoln Financial Field for the next decade, the team announced Tuesday.

Matt MacMillan was a finalist to win two season tickets for the next 100 years as part of the NFL’s centennial-year celebration. He was flown out to Nashville and brought on stage at the NFL draft ahead of the first pick.

The ultimate prize went to Gregory Hampton, a Giants fan who lives in Virginia (although, after seeing whom the Giants drafted sixth overall, he might want to give it back).

MacMillan, who wore a spiffy Eagles suit coat on stage, flew back to Philadelphia empty handed. Saturday, the Eagles brought him and his family to their South Philly complex to watch Day 3 of the NFL draft. It was there that they surprised him with four season tickets for the next 10 years.

“While he did not win the NFL’s grand prize, we wanted to take this opportunity to reward Matt and his family for their generational fandom and thank them for being such incredible stewards of Eagle pride,” said Don Smolenski, Eagles president. "We look forward to celebrating with Matt, his wife Alyssa, and their two children at Lincoln Financial Field for the next decade.”

MacMillan was picked as a finalist after submitting a video demonstrating his Eagles fandom.

The NFL is running contests and campaigns all throughout the 2019 season to celebrate the founding of the NFL in 1920, culminating with Super Bowl LIV in Miami.
