Manny Diaz will become Temple’s next football coach. It’s his first head-coaching job.
He comes to Temple by way of Miami, where he worked as defensive coordinator for three years.

College: Florida State ’95.
2016-2018: Defensive coordinator at the University of Miami. This was his third year at the University of Miami. The Hurricanes were No. 2 nationally in total defense, allowing 268.3 yards per game and No. 15 in scoring defense (18.2 ppg.). Miami is also leading the nation in fewest passing yards allowed per game, 140.8. The Hurricanes will face Wisconsin in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 27.
2015: Defensive coordinator at Mississippi State. His unit allowed 23.4 points per game during a 9-4 season.
2014: Defensive coordinator at Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs led the nation in turnovers gained (42) with 16 fumble recoveries and 26 interceptions.
2011-2013: Defensive coordinator at Texas. In 2011, his unit ranked ninth in total yards per play.
2010: Defensive coordinator at Mississippi State. The Bulldogs were 22nd nationally in scoring defense (19.9 ppg.)
2006-2009: Defensive coordinator at Middle Tennessee State. His 2009 team finished second nationally in tackles for loss.
2004-2005: Safeties coach at North Carolina State.
2002-2003: linebackers coach at North Carolina State.
2000-2001: graduate assistant at North Carolina State.
1998-1999: graduate assistant at Florida State.
