Nonprofit that serves one in five Delaware County residents over 60 wants volunteers

Senior Community Services in Delaware County is actively recruiting volunteers for its four locations in Folsom, Darby, Sharon Hill, and Chester for various positions including drivers, meal runners, gardeners, program instructors, front desk receptionists, and Medicare counselors.
SCS has operated in Delaware County for over 40 years to aid older adults live independent lives at home through direct services and programming. SCS directly serves nearly one in five Delaware County residents over the age of 60.
SCS’ Senior Suppers, Aging at Home, and APPRISE programs are primarily run by volunteers. Senior center volunteers ensure the operations of the center run smoothly by providing assistance directly to SCS staff members on a daily basis.
“SCS always welcomes new volunteers, but these positions are especially crucial to the agency,” said Michele O’Brien, director of volunteers.
