Acts-Retirement Life, the nation’s third-largest nonprofit operator of continuing care retirement communities, has reached an agreement to acquire Integrace Inc., another nonprofit with four senior living communities in Maryland.

The four communities joining Acts-Retirement Life — Bayleigh Chase in Easton; Buckingham’s Choice in Adamstown; Fairhaven in Sykesville; and Copper Ridge in Sykesville — have 1,080 residents, Acts said in a news release Monday. The services offered by the facilities include independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation and care for those with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other neurocognitive conditions.

With the addition of Integrace, based in Eldersburg, Md., Acts will have 27 senior living communities in nine states totaling 9,504 units. Under affiliations Acts uses to expand, there’s no money change hands as part of the transaction.
