Local poets, including former Philadelphia Youth Poet Laureate Husnaa Hasim, will read from their works and discuss the significance of poetry in understanding their own faith. Afterward, audience members can participate in an open mic with themes of identity, social justice, and faith. The event is cohosted by Interfaith Philadelphia and the Fabric Workshop and Museum.

Mozart sonatas for violin and piano form the backbone of this concert featuring pianist Jeremy Denk with violinists Pamela Frank, Benjamin Beilman, and Stefan Jackiw. But these traditional pieces are set in an unusual context. The concert, which comes in three hour-long chunks with two 15-minute breaks, has been dubbed by Denk "A Feast of Mozart Violin Sonatas with Assorted Musical Sorbets." But sorbet is more than a palate-cleanser when it includes movements by composers like Ravel, John Adams, Stravinsky, and Schubert.

Weezer is taking the stage at the newly reopened Met Philadelphia to perform their biggest hits, where they’ll be joined by Mt. Joy, Philly’s newest indie darlings, who are coming off a breakout year.

Since its Christmas Eve premiere on NBC in 1951, Amahl and the Night Visitors has found its way into the hearts of several generations. But Menotti’s small masterpiece has never been performed in full by the Philadelphia Orchestra until these performances, led by Bramwell Tovey with singers from the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program.

Teicher, a founding member of Dorrance Dance, comes to the Annenberg with the Philadelphia premiere of his own tap company. The performance will include Meet Ella, a swing duet set to the music of Ella Fitzgerald, and Variations, set to Bach’s Goldberg Variations.
