Hoboken dealing with another water disruption

HOBOKEN, N.J. - Some Hoboken residents are dealing with another water disruption, the fifth such problem in the past eight days.

The Jersey Journal reports ( http://bit.ly/XidpTI) that a water main sustained a small rupture Thursday night as workers were replacing a valve.

United Water spokesman Steve Goudsmith tells the newspaper that about 125 residents were affected.

Repairs were expected to be completed by Friday afternoon.

The disruption comes after the square-mile city sustained several water main breaks and leaks last week, leaving part of the city without water and forcing officials to issue a boil water advisory for all residents for three days.

No boil water advisory was issued for Thursday's disruption.

Hoboken's mayor says the city's recent water woes have their roots in a contract signed two decades ago.
