    Kid was wrong . . . he knew he was wrong . . . and was running around trying to avoid being caught. Cop was right to do that.

    If it seems too excessive maybe they should use a tranquilizer dart...and then release him back into the boondocks.

    STEVE5444 - why do you have to get racist all of a sudden? What does this have to do with white/black/hispanic/whatever? Lot of hidden anger inside, huh? My 2 cents: Absolutely excessive. It's not that hard to just chase the kid down. While it might take 30 seconds longer to catch him by hand, seems a lot more sane than shooting a taser at him. I used to work security at Fenway and we did it all the time, by hand--never had a problem back then. Guess these security guys are too out of shape to run for 30 seconds. But as Steve says, doing something stupid (and funny) means "all bets are off" in the land of overly aggressive people with hidden anger they need to release.

    A sniper on the roof would be excessive. A taser is appropriate for anyone resisting arrest.

    Steve 1 good comment then you had to do it bring race in it I bet your from the burbs. Just like that kid is. Charlie Kid was wrong . . . he knew he was wrong . . . and was running around trying to avoid being caught. Cop was right to do that. I agree but i also think a 1500 dollar fine will be nice and if they don't pay no more games ever

    The security force & the police cannot afford to waste time trying to decide if this is a moronic act by some idiot kid, or a potentially serious threat to players' well-being. If this moron had run out to attack a player and succeeded, then the outcry would still be against the police... but for not doing enough! This kid got exactly what he deserved and the actions by the officer were totally justified. This incident should also serve as a warning to other lame-brains to expect the same treatment; but they should also be fined and have their season tickets revoked.
