This should be a video of the do's and don'ts of bicycle riding riding. Nice how he rode on the sidewalk along south Broad Street, used the bike lane on Spruce then hopped back on the sidewalk along Rittenhouse Square. Granted, the stretch on south Broad Street is technically not in the Business District, but Walnut Street sidewalks are and the biker who wants respect from pedestrians should walk the bike on any sidewalk. Bikers swerving around pedestrians are irritating and there is reason for it. His rationale is another problem, it's not OK to ride on the sidewalk even for inexperienced bicyclists. This is the behavior Kimberly Garrison just pointed out yesterday in her YO! column.
I can't you believe you posted a video of someone breaking the law for 20 blocks - and not just doing something illegal but something that's also discourteous and dangerous. Take this video down and interview one of the tens of thousands of responsible cyclists in this city.
wow u guys really have no better time then to be critical of videos like this? really its kinda lame and you sound jealous bc this person was picked and not u which is even more lame. i mean i dont think the point of this video was to be a psa ad for biking, it was meant to show how more and more people are starting to find new ways to get around the city amidst the strike. sooo in closing get some lives people and save ur words for more important issues.
I was really hoping to see, if there is a seat big enough for the Deputy Mayor, who suggested bikes.
