ISSUE | PAPAL MOVES Amorphous vs. immovable forces I find it disturbing that the Vatican has recognized Palestine ("Vatican recognizes 'state of Palestine,' " May 14). It should be clear to anyone familiar with history that there is no such state as Palestine. To fulfill the requisites of statehood, there must be established borders and institutions.
AS A LIFETIME resident and a retired Philadelphia Fire Department captain and paramedic instructor, I couldn't be more proud of the professional response of our Fire Department and Police Department under the Command of Deputy Commissioner Jesse Wilson.
