Sarah needs new lungs

If Sarah Murnaghan could only hang on for two more years, she’d have a better shot of living another 20. But the cystic fibrosis patient, who has only days to live before she succumbs to her illness, needs new lungs right now. But she is 10 years old, and transplant protocols say she must be 12 to receive adult lungs, which are more plentiful than pediatric-sized ones. An online petition to bump her to the top of the adult list has publicized her plight, but she may not survive to see an exception made to the rule that excludes her from donation. Her family shot this video of her at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
