Historic Buildings Demolished for Convention Center Expansion

Workers started to demolish two historic buildings on Broad Street to make way for the convention center expansion. The demolition started eleven days after a judge gave the go-ahead despite protest from preservation groups. Video by MIKE LEVIN / Inquirer Staff Photographer

Kobe's big game sinks Sixers

Kobe Bryant, the former Lower Merion standout and international superstar, did not disappoint the many fans wearing Lakers colors at the Wachovia Center. Bryant scored 32 points as the 76ers fell, 114-102.

Even worse for the Sixers, power forward Elton Brand suffered a strained right hamstring. He will be re-evaluated Thursday.
