VISITOR GUIDE
Jim's Steaks
400 South Street
Philadelphia , PA 19147
(215) 928-1911
Neighborhood: Italian Market - Southwark
South Street is probably Philadelphia’s most well known melting pot. Here, visitors and residents, teenagers and adults, preppies and punk rockers, artists and attorneys all mix seamlessly together. The street is always buzzing no matter if you visit on a Tuesday afternoon or a Friday night. All of these people make for an excellent customer base for Jim’s Steaks, South Street’s premier cheesesteak shop. The crowds can also mean an extra long wait before you actually get to taste one of Jim’s fine cheesesteak sandwiches — the line at Jim's often stretches out the front door and around the corner onto Fourth Street. But don’t worry, the unbelievable smell of the rich beef and fried onions on the grill will keep you patient and focused on the prize. And if there’s always a line, it just means that the cheesesteaks are obviously worth waiting for.
This monthly event features a variety of free cultural events taking place at locations throughout Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Ardmore.
