Across the Delaware River from Philadelphia at Campbell’s Field, the Camden Riversharks boast one of the most family-friendly ballparks in the country. With the Philadelphia skyline and Benjamin Franklin Bridge as a breathtaking backdrop, you can enjoy a game, visit the Utz Fun Zone, picnic beyond Left Field, run the bases and marvel at post-game fireworks (after every Friday home game). Campbell’s Field, named independent minor league Ballpark of the Year by Baseball America magazine, is the home of the Riversharks, who play in the Atlantic League, but it is also a symbol of the revival of the Camden waterfront. Opened in 2001, the park has 6,425 seats, all of which look out over the Delaware River toward the magnificent Benjamin Franklin Bridge into Philadelphia. The minor league season begins in May and home games start at a family-friendly time of 6:35 p.m. So bring the whole gang and you’ll be in for a real treat.

New York choreographer Doug Varone is a vital force in the contemporary dance scene. Blending muscle with exquisite lyrical movement, he and his dancers move across the stage in a whirlwind of spins, tumbles, leaps and lifts.

My Thanksgiving dinners hold expectation and strategy, but no surprises: My mother-in-law always contributes a bowl of trail mix to the coffee-table appetizers; my husband always insists on canned, jellied cranberry sauce. And while the gravy is still hot in its china boat, certain relatives testily revisit long-held and contrasting thoughts on who killed JFK. » Read more
