Bargains at Greenbrier, Paradise

Historic resort. The Greenbrier (1-800-453-4858, www.greenbrier.com) in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., has rates of $249 a night (plus $47 per night taxes and resort fee) July 3 to 5, July 31 and Aug. 1, and Aug. 28 and 29. The deal applies to standard and intermediate rooms. Rates typically range between $439 and $489 a night, plus taxes/fees.

Discount in Paradise. Stay for three nights at Atlantis, on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and pay $199 per night (plus $53 taxes and fees); rate is available for most Sunday and Monday arrivals, and applies to other weekdays based on availability. Room reductions. Hotels.com has Fourth of July deals at select U.S. hotels. For example, get the third night free at Borrego Ranch Resort & Spa in Borrego Springs, Calif., near San Diego, for travel July 2 to 5; a three-night stay is $388 (including taxes), a saving of $192. Also, receive a $25 per-room prepaid MasterCard for two-night stays, $50 for three nights, and $75 for four or more nights. Cruise specials. Carnival is offering an Early Saver discount for sailings through spring. Cruises of up to five days must be booked three months in advance, and longer cruises must be booked five months in advance. Nonrefundable deposit required. Prices vary. For example, a seven-night cruise round trip from Baltimore to the Bahamas, departing Dec. 6, starts at $1,108 per couple, including taxes. Usual rate is $1,318. Get discounts of about $530 per person on Canadian Sailing Expeditions' seven-night cruises to the Caribbean and Canada, and discounts of about $265 per person on four-night Canadian itineraries. Prices vary. For example, a seven-night Caribbean cruise, with departures mid-November through early May, now starts at about $1,537 per person double, plus $137 port charges. Itinerary varies by departure date. A four-night Canada cruise in Newfoundland, with two departures July 29 and Aug. 19, now starts at $1,007 per person double, plus $131 taxes. Peter Deilmann Cruises is including a Discovery Package for passengers on the City of Lights cruise-tour in July and August. The package, which is usually sold for an additional $399 per person, features two pre- or post-cruise nights at the Hotel Concorde St. Lazare with breakfasts, a tour of Paris, and hotel-to-ship transfers. The seven-night trip aboard the MV Cezanne, which travels round trip from Paris, starts at $2,515 per person double (plus $190 taxes and fuel surcharges), including five shore excursions. Curacao Now. The Curacao Tourist Board, in conjunction with several tour operators and travel booking sites, is offering a Curacao Now promotion that includes a $200 per-person airfare credit, a free night at any of 19 participating hotels, a $200 per-room food and beverage credit, and discounts to various attractions. For example, a five-night package in mid-September booked through Orbitz - including round-trip airfare from Reagan National, accommodations at the Avila Hotel, and taxes - is $1,005 per person double before the airfare credit (rebated via check after travel is completed). In the air. AirTran is holding a systemwide sale. From Philadelphia, one-way fares are $64 to $171. From BWI Marshall, one-way fares are $39 to $169; from Washington Dulles and Reagan National, one-way fares are $64 to $140. Round-trip fare from Reagan National to Tampa, for example, is $170, including $42 taxes; other airlines are matching. Book by June 30.
