2. Flying Pumpkin Festival. Sept. 27. Pittstown, N.J. Celebrate autumn by using medieval war machines to send pumpkins hurtling across a field. Also, building cars out of ears of corn and racing them, painting pumpkins, pony rides, and a petting zoo.
