Former Eagle Terrell Owens is back, and he wants to sell you pizza.
The ex-Eagles wide receiver is now a spokesperson for Pizza Hut, which features Owens in its latest Super Bowl ad campaign. Owens, of course, was part of the Eagles roster that went to Super Bowl XXXIX, where he caught nine passes for 122 yards.
The ad is set to premiere just before kick off on Super Bowl Sunday, and puts Owens in the role of “Super Boaster.” During his time in the NFL, Owens earned a reputation as one of the game's best trash-talkers (or at least one of the most frequent), only instead of taking aim and teammates and colleagues, Owens here is stumping for Pizza Hut’s “Hut Rewards” promotion.
The deal gives customers a shot at a free medium two-topping pie for 150 Hut Rewards points, which can be earned by ordering online. As a release explains, T.O. will be “spreading the word on how fast Hut Rewards members can get free pizza faster.”
