Letters to the Editor

Eat, Pray, Love - and remember 'Gima'
Age: 43

Job: Assistant clerk, Orphans Court

Neighborhood: West Philadelphia

Quality he most wants in a mate: Faithfulness

Dream date: “An evening of dinner and conversation.”

How he gives back: Planning an event called the Gentlemen’s Ball which would mentor eleventh and tweflth grade males and also teach graces. “We’re going to meet them all through the year to teach them values and try to help them get into school. Try to steer them on right way. A lot of African American young men, don’t know how to go out to dinner and how to eat properly and how to order from a menu. We want to teach them some of the finer things. They’ll learn to waltz...The twelfth graders will be in tails and the eleventh graders will have on regular tuxes. Every year, there’ll be a new cycle.”

On flying solo: “I enjoy it. I don’t have a problem with being single. I live alone.”

No live-ins need apply: “I don’t like that moving in thing. You’ve got your place, I’ve got my place. I tried that. It didn’t work for me. Too much togetherness.”

Dating pet peeves: “I don’t like clingy. I want you to be independent. Before you met me, you were independent. I want you to stay that way. If you go out with your girlfriends on Friday night, continue to do that. I’m going to do Wayne and you want to sit home and be mad because I’m out...When I see clingy, I run. I don’t like clingy.”

If his love life were a reality TV show it would be called: “How Did We Get Here?”

This year's layout has a City to Shore theme, which we photographed at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and the Residences at the Ritz-Carlton, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. Thanks to everyone who helped make our time on location truly a VIP experience for the Sexy Singles!
