Growing pains: "My mother would always tell me you are from a royal family. You are royalty. I was like, 'royalty my behind.' I didn't want to hear anything about Africa. We didn't have no money. That's all I knew."
Going home: "I reconnected with my father when I was old enough. He brought me to Ghana. I was 14. It was amazing...I was taken straight to the presidential palace to meet my second cousin. At the time, he was president of Ghana."
Current neighborhood: Beverly Hills/Rittenhouse Square
Kids: one teenage son
Job: chief executive office, Wall Street Media, a multi-media production company based in New York City.
Development deal No. 1: Just signed a deal with Comedy Central to produce eight episodes of his own reality show, "Chasing Hollywood." "It's a follow show. It basically follows me around doing stuff like this. Just following my career. It's almost like where were the cameras when P. Diddy was getting started...You get to see the struggle. You get to see the good. You get to see the bad."
Development deal No. 2: Recently signed an emerging rock group called Major League to a record label owned by Michael Bivens' of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe fame.
Dream job: Hosting the Oscars
Claim to infamy: Walking onstage during both the Grammys and MTV Video Music award presentations.
On the move: "I am looking around 2011 to go to Ghana with some of the success I have had in the states and to open up a film studio. Ghana's economy is great."
Philly's social scene: "There are a lot of people in Philly that have been through tragic relationships and they wear that armor while out on the social scene. I personally know many friends who are going through rough times which inspired me to write my first book entitled 'Giving Love a Chance: The Secrets to Men, Women and Relationships. It's due out Feb. 14, 2010. And keep an eye out for my dating service which is entitled "Giving love a chance."
An old-fashioned kind of love: "My grandparents have been married for 60 years. My grandfather said the secret to a great marriage is 'never yell unless there's a fire.' And 'what you do to get them is what you do to keep them.' He also said 'keep the arguments clean and the sex dirty.' I love it."
The woman he wants: "You've got to be Michelle Obama. You've got to be Oprah. You've got to be Sojourner Truth all rolled into one. You've got to bring your A game. And it's up to you to know whether someone is worthy of your A game or not."
