Faded dream: Dancing on Broadway. "That's not an easy thing to do. It's tough out there ... I don't want to have to dance for my dinner the rest of my life."
Time to teach: "I had a fake ID and I had been going to a country-western bar, and I fell in love with dancing."
Going for it: Moved here in 1995 from Minnesota. "I was so excited, I didn't even think it was going to be tough. I was just bound and determined to get out of Minnesota."
Around the clock: "Anybody I date has to submit to my schedule. There's nothing I can do about it. By 9 I am on my computer. I teach from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. ... I can go out late, but it's just not that easy. I dated somebody for three years and that was a big point of contention."
First steps: "I'd rather date a guy who can't dance than a guy who's a dancer. Are you kidding? Most male dancers are egomaniacs."
Who's loving her: Lulu, an English mastiff. "She's very dog aggressive. When any dog walks by, I have to hold her."

What she thinks of Philly men: "I think men are men, no matter where you are. They all have Y-chromosome poisoning. They can't help it."
On "Dancing with the Stars": "I would make a great judge. I'd give them some slack."
Giving back: "I am in the process of starting a nonprofit called the Philadelphia Dance Foundation to bring ballroom dancing to underserviced children in the Philadelphia area."
What she's looking for in a man: "Fun-loving. Great sense of humor. Someone who's not intimidated by a successful woman. Goofy."
