Wings play home-and-home series this weekend against Minnesota

Wings hope to reach .500 mark against the winless Swarm.

THE WINGS hope to bounce back from a loss in last Sunday's home opener when they host Minnesota today at noon to start a home-and-home series with the Swarm in which Wings goalie Evan Kirk will face his former team for the first time.

After losing to Buffalo, 12-11, in overtime, the 1-2 Wings seek to return to the .500 mark against the 0-2 Swarm in the Wells Fargo Center. They play Minnesota tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the Xcel Energy Center.

"We need to be ready to compete and energized for the games this weekend," assistant coach Jim Milligan said in a team release. "The goal is to fight to stay above .500."

The Wings have a bye next weekend, then return to play 7:30 p.m Feb. 1 against the Vancouver Stealth at the WFC.
